I've now been the Division 1 representative for more than four years and continue to enjoy working for the area and its people. It's been rewarding to deliver on many promises in the area of youth, sports fields, new facilities and in getting to know so many of you through the community venues at Upper Coomera and Coomera Neighbourhood Centre. Your ongoing support is very much appreciated. Some background information which may be of interest - just a brief run through my history to this point. I grew up in Melbourne and lived in Eaglemont, Kew and Camberwell. I was educated at Ivanhoe Girls Grammar and after leaving school, worked at Radio 3UZ until 1984. After starting out as Secretary to the Station Manager, I moved into the on-air area producing radio programs alongside many well known personalities including Bert Newton, the late Don Lane, Bob Rogers, Martha Gardener, Peter Russell Clarke and Ugly Dave Gray, eventually becoming Publicity and Promotions Manager for the Station. After radio I took an active role in my family's real estate business before purchasing a motel on the Murray River at Tocumwal on the Victoria/NSW border. The business ran successfully for a few years before my husband Bill was appointed by the ABC to establish FM radio stations on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. On moving to Queensland, I worked in the hospitality industry briefly before joining an architectural firm. In 1996 I was approached to join Gold Coast City Council in a support role to councillors. I have been the representative for this area since 2007 and at the 2008 election was thrilled to win every booth on polling day, together with postal and pre-poll voting. I'm still excited and honoured to represent this area and thank you for your ongoing support. You can be assured of my continuing efforts on your behalf.
